3 MUST HAVE GEAR YOU SHOULD PACK IN YOUR BAGPACK FOR A HIKING TRIP
SCENE 1:
So it was the best experience while you crossed the gushing river in the far north this summer. But it turns out that the other side of the river you are left all soaked up in cold water. The freezing wind hits you hard upfront. While you have the seasoned best windbreaker/ parka jacket, your legs cannot take the wind’s beating.
SCENE 2:
It’s the first day of your hike towards the mountain you plan to scale. And the scorching sun is enough to make an omelet in no time. You have your hiking cap/ hat that you particularly bought for this day. But soon you realize that while your head is protected, your face and neck is taking the heat. By the end of the day, you are bicolored. You need something more than a hiking hat or hiking cap.
SCENE 3:
Great camping around a bon-fire, a cup of coffee and lots of stories all while under the glittering sky. Time to get into your tent and take some good sleep for the next big day ahead. While you’ve laid down you sleeping mat, you lie down. But your head won’t adjust and won’t let you sleep. You know what’s missing?
The Reality
The gear list can go on. Fact of the matter is, there is no universal formula as to what hiking gear needs to be packed while opting for hiking or back country trip. Prioritize your needs, make a list of things that you can’t live without. Compromise on luxuries. Should be, since it’s an adventure that you plan not a trip to five star resort.
But as far as clothing is concerned, we can guarantee that this article will never let you down on your next adventure. So let’s get you back to Scene#1.
SCENE 1 – THE CHOICE OF HIKING PANTS
All you needed is a pair of lightweight pants that are comfortable, breathable and quick dry after a heavy downpour or stream crossing.
SCENE 2 – PROTECTING YOUR HEAD
Alongside hiking hats or caps, it is strongly recommended to pack a bandana or the Arabic Shemagh in your backpack. While hats can protect your head, bandanas can help your protect your face and neck. Besides they can also be used as towels or seat under you bum.
SCENE 3 – SLEEP DISORDER
While naturally, you should be fatigued enough to sleep anywhere in your camp. But sometimes, your body needs the comfort of your home. The muscle memory has references and they signal back to the same reference when they don’t get them. Result, sleeplessness. It’s good to have sleeping mat that has built in air pillow. If not, our suggested Arabic Shemagh best suited to be converted into a pillow.
All being said, it is always good to start your adventure with a meaning and mindset of, “adventure starts when something goes wrong”. After all you left your home to enjoy your life living with less.
